Istanbul: what is worth your time
The old city around Sultanahmet holds the big four — Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, the Basilica Cistern and Topkapı — all within a 10-minute walk. Start early: queues grow after 10:00, and mosques close to visitors during prayers. Add a Bosphorus ferry for the view, and keep the Asian shore for a second day.
